Stalker tendencies and a RANT
I find it interesting how into other people's lives we have become. I used to think that I was different, but here I am with a blog, a Fbook, and (sometimes) a Twitter account. I mean, am I really that important that people care about what I'm doing at all times? The answer to that question is a resounding NO! Regardless, people do seem to care and I apparently enjoy the attention that it brings.
(rant warning)
What ever happened to a a good old fashioned phone call? Lately, I've been trying to bring back the phone call and my results have been mixed. Some girls that I call won't pick up but will immediately TEXT me back. What's up with that? If I call you, I would prefer a CALL back. Texting for hours on end gets so old and boring. What accomplish in 6 hours (constrained to 160 characters!)could just have easily been done over one 15 minute phone call, which happens to be much more personal. Or is being non-personal the point of it all? Do we say different things because of the non-personal natur of the text? IMO this is NOT a good thing.
That is all.

Free Music Friday!
Jack’s Mannequin – The Glass Passenger
The Glass Passenger is the second album from the Jack’s Mannequin. Led by ex-Something Corporate singer Andrew McMahon, this is an amazing collection of songs. For those of you who don’t know, Andrew was diagnosed with Leukemia right after finished the band’s first disc, Everything In Transit. The Glass Passenger features songs directly influenced by this ordeal.
The lyrical content is what really makes this cd stand out. Songs like “The Resolution” speak of standing on your own two feet and not needing the approval of others to be who you are and do what you want to do. Other tracks like the popular “Swim”, feature verses wrapped in hope for the future and the burning desire to never give up.
If you’re having a rough day and need a little pick-me-up, Andrew brings the jams that will get you through the day.

Cartel – Cycles
“I have no worries, I’m in no hurry here”, belts Cartel lead singer Will Pugh in the B-side “I’m in no hurry.” “No worries” pretty much describes the whole album. After being widely panned for their participation in Dr. Pepper’s Band in A Bubble promotion and producing a subpar album, Cartel is back in a big way with Cycles.
The first track “Let’s Go” sets the tone for what’s to come with a huge hook and lively guitars. The album’s lyrical content focuses on the universal themes of love and loss that everyone can identify with. This is a cd that just screams “SUMMER” and it’s best played with the windows down and the speakers turned all the way up.

p.s. for those of you who know me well, you know that I'm pretty much obsessed with Seinfeld. Thus my header picture of "The Timeless Art of Seduction."
